The Temptation of Worry
I feel like I should have known worry was a problem not a solution. It took a great deal of insurmountable stress, anxiety and nervous breakdowns to just see the truth so clearly. When you live by faith how is that you can live by worry at the same time. It's either fear of the unknown or faith of the known.
What is temptation?
Temptation could be anything that takes you off the better course. The course that would in action produce good results for you and others in your life.
Examples of temptation
- Having an Affair or aka 'Keeping Big Secrets' so you won't have to suffer for doing what you love in the wrong way that can hurt others who thought you were someone else
- Calling work saying your sick before you go paragliding
- When you finish the carton of milk and instead of recycling you put it back in the fridge for the next person
- You have a cucumber under $5 in the fridge but use an app to deliver a double bacon cheeseburger and poutine fries covered in melted cheese, cost about $30+
Cheeseburgers are yummy up front, true. But shouldn't we place a value on something by it's effect? What will feel better after eating? A cucumber with a dash of salt or a greasy cheesy meat and carb combo.
Worry, Worry, Worry
Can the temptation of worry be beaten, threatened or cajoled into lighten up considerably. A good time to start to transform your worries and fears into faith will take place from your mind and thoughts.
Ways to Diminish Fear and Worry
On faith I can offer this one tip that has kept coming my way and it's this. If you are worrying you are not being close to God who is not conquerable by anything including our fears.
If you don't have a relationship with God through Jesus try to think about what you need to happen not what you don't want to happen.
God is not bad. So in our God like power to make decision don't be bad. Deny the bad. What is bad is simply not good. And what is good is good not bad.
- Your thoughts no matter how weak or strong they feel can be considered and hopefully altered by your own self
- Instead of thinking or saying often 'I am scared' try 'I am courageous' and repeat the latter often to replace the weaker less serving thought
- For some the name 'Jesus' as in The Christ Jesus has a powerful effect on our whole beings, say the name by calling out to him and it will take less than you think to feel that difference from dark to light
- The mystery of Jesus and his love for all mankind is the beginning of the light expanding your spiritual life
- Talk to a close confident who can ground your fears and worries and or for sure a therapist or someone in a profession like that
I want to say good luck but I have to say keep doing good work instead. Good thoughts, good thinking, followed by good actions will help a lot.
